Strengthening the Bond Between Parent and Child.

What families actually experience.

Parent & Teen Outback is not a youth camp or a parenting workshop. Parents and teenagers go through the weekend together – side by side. The program creates space for conversations that may rarely happen at home. Sometimes families don’t even know how to do it.

The weekend brings together three things: structured and unstructured time for each parent and child pair, guided conversations that open hearts on both sides, and outdoor challenges that build trust and a different kind of closeness.

What stays long after the weekend.

Most families arrive carrying tension. By Sunday, something has shifted – not because problems disappeared, but because something between them has changed.

Connection

Parents and teenagers who feel seen by each other again – sometimes for the first time in years.

Tools

Simple, practical ways to keep the conversation going at home, starting from the Monday after they return.

Memories

Shared experiences that belong only to the two of them. Something to look back on together when things get hard again.

Who from your community can or can't come?

Works best when:
  • A parent and their teenager want to deepen their relationship,
  • Communication has broken down or become surface-level,
  • Distance has grown and neither side knows how to start again,
  • A family wants to invest in their relationship before problems deepen.

Not the right fit for:
  • Children younger than early teenage years (below 14).

Not sure wheather this is right fit for families in your community?

How to run it.

Group size

30–60 participants across 15–30 families. Starting smaller works well and often makes for a more personal first event.

Venue

A retreat location outside the city, with accommodation and a main meeting space. It does not need to be large or expensive – the setting matters more than the facilities.

Team

Volunteer parent-teen pairs who have already been through Outback. They lead small groups, facilitate the activities and model the kind of relationship the weekend is helping families build.

Duration

Friday evening through Sunday afternoon — two nights and approximately 48 hours together.

You focus on gathering the people and the place.

We handle everything else and our team from Poland will be there with you at your first event.

Want to bring Parent & Child Outback to your country?

The best way to understand what this weekend does is to live it yourself. Come to Poland and bring your own teenager if you can. We will cover your stay.

There is no commitment required and no better preparation than experiencing it firsthand.

"We came as a typical father and son – we left with a bond that changed our family."
